Fellowship Director

Dr. Leland was appointed the Director of the Clinical Ethics Fellowship with FCME in August, 2017 after serving as the Associate Director with the 2016-2017 Ethics Fellowship Class. He completed the Ethics Fellowship with the 2014-2015 class. Dr. Leland joined the IU School of Medicine faculty in 2016 after completing a Fellowship in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. Currently, he serves as Assistant Professor of Pediatrics within the section of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine and serves as a Pediatric Ethicist. As an Indiana native committed to serving the needs of his home state, Dr. Leland completed medical school, Pediatric Residency, and Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship through the Indiana University School of Medicine.

As a second generation physician, Dr. Leland gained an appreciation for the practice of medicine at an early age, with a particular interest in the care of children. He was drawn to the field of Pediatric Critical Care where he identified Clinical Ethics to be of great significance. Emplementing his formal training and interests, Dr. Leland has been tasked with Pediatric Ethics program development for the Department of Pediatrics.
