Genina received a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Indiana University Indianapolis and a Master’s degree in Nursing Education from the University of Indianapolis. She is currently a student in the Doctorate of Nursing Practice Program at the University of Indianapolis. In 2009-2010 she completed the Clinical Ethics Fellowship through the Charles Warren Fairbanks Center for Medical Ethics. Her clinical ethics fellowship project included curriculum development for the Unit-Based Ethics Conversation facilitator training program. In 2016, she received the Advancement in Nursing Salute to Nurses Award for her work in clinical ethics and end-of-life care initiatives. Genina has worked in the clinical setting for over 20 years in adult critical care, vascular access and clinical education. She currently co-chairs the clinical ethics committee and ethics consultation service at Indiana University Health West Hospital.
