Pediatric Ethics

The Fairbanks Center for Medical Ethics Pediatric Ethics Initiative began in July of 2016.  With support from the Methodist Health Foundation Asa Ruse Irrevocable Trust, Dr Brian Leland was invited to join the FCME faculty in order to spearhead this endeavor as Program Direcotr.  The goals of the Pediatric Ethics Initiative (PEI) include improving the medical care of children by supporting ethical decision making through ethics service, education, and research.  The Program is administratively housed at FCME in Methodist Hospital at Indiana University Health and focuses on the care of children at the Academic Health Center and the medical and ancillary teams that support those care efforts.  PEI includes service through ethics consultation, education of Pediatric trainees, and Pediatric ethics research missions.
