Dr. Holmes is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Psychiatry at Indiana University School of Medicine. She earned her undergraduate degree from North Carolina State University before obtaining her MD/MPH from the University of North Carolina. She stayed at UNC to complete residency in general adult psychiatry and fellowship in consultation-liaison psychiatry. In 2017 she joined the IU Department of Psychiatry, and she serves as the Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry Fellowship Program Director. In 2022-2023 she completed the Fairbanks Fellowship in Clinical Ethics before joining the faculty as Associate Fellowship Director and becoming the Fellowship Director in 2024. She is particularly interested in the convergence of psychiatric symptoms and medical illness, physician wellness, against medical advice discharge, and decision-making capacity.
